Freelance Dubbing Mixer, Sound Engineer and Sound Designer for TV, podcasts and radio.
Since going freelance in 2020, Liam is fully established to work either remotely from his London based home studio or at a facility for studio-based, client-attended sessions. Previously an in-house engineer at Wisebuddah Studios in London, Liam is adept in delivering high quality work for regular clients including the BBC, Discovery Channel, Yesterday and Audible.
After studying sound production and music technology at California State and Kingston Universities, I cut my teeth in production sound as a trainee on set for shows like Downton Abbey and Mr Selfridge.
In 2015 I started my post-production journey as a runner at Wise Buddah Studios in central London. There I trained as an engineer taking on a variety of jobs including Voice Over recording for long-form television programmes, adverts, ISDN radio days and podcasts. I developed a professional and determined attitude to my work which I have found to be essential in the modern post-production environment.
Once promoted to in-house studio engineer I took on responsibility for the various jobs covered by the studios. This included; dubbing mixer for long-form factual TV series, mixing ads for TV, editing dialogue, music and SFX for long-form programmes, editing and mixing podcasts, ADR recording and sound design for TV, radio and podcasts. I’ve always enjoyed the variety of work the job can bring and I’m comfortable even when working under pressure to tight deadlines!
With the Wise Buddah’s closure in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic I took the decision to go freelance and began working from my home studio in London. Since then I have continued to take on similar projects, focussing on dubbing mixing for factual television, voice over recording, and podcast recording, mixing and sound design. I’m fully established to work remotely from my studio on any project, including remote recording for podcasts and voice overs, or at a facility for studio-based, client-attended sessions.
