Adventure / Expedition Documentary

Monty Halls & Leo Holding lead the way to discover unchartered territory in this natural history adventure documentary crossing jungles, mountains, climbing waterfalls and exploring underground caves systems in expeditions in Guyana and Borneo. Stu Bruce was the Sound Recordist who faced the challenge of recording the documentary which required being self-sufficient in extremely demanding environments over several expeditions across the series like squeezing through a Borneo cave system with 20ft drops as tight as your helmet to live underground for a few days with the Razor snakes, Hunter Spiders & Scorpians to reach the Secret Garden in the heart of the Jungle.

There were huge cliff climbs and waterfall Decents, planes, helicopters, line extractions, 4 x4's, Camon catching on rivers, treks through jungles and so much more. Shot with multiple Cameras with different formats, DOP's and operators, rope and rigging experts and a single sound recordist it was a huge challenge. Selecting the right equipment for the limited space, having sufficient power to operate for the duration, keeping mic heads protected from the wind but not saturated by the sweat and torrential rain of the jungle, recording Monty & Leo sleeping high above treelines suspended in hammocks or tied to the face of a cliff 400m above in a Portaledge or crawling deep underground through cave systems. The selection of equipment and the ability to send audio feeds to the multiple cameras and producers to hear and direct the documentary was vital as well as making the audio rushes sync with Timecode with any of the cameras used to capture the series.
