Blog posts and why they're important

We love blog posts as they give us and you so many outlets for marketing. Blog posts link to your profile which gives you greater visibility, we can promote them across multiple marketing channels but above all, blog posts are a truly immersive way to showcase your expertise, amazing experiences and niche subjects that fellow crew, production and film & tv enthusiasts can really delve into.

Own your expertise

This video on YouTube, How Formula 1 is Filmed (It's a Technical Masterpiece) has over 1 million views. Why so many views? Because as the title says, it's a technical masterpiece. The expertise in this video is coming from someone who has never worked on the production side of F1. Many of you have, and are in way better positions to be telling these type of stories. So why don't you?

See here an article on how Planet Earth is filmed. These are the kind of blog posts we'd love you to be writing for us and that people WANT to read. It doesn't have to be big productions like F1 or Planet Earth. We're interested in the how, the why and innovative techniques you're proud of using to have got the shot or captured the sound.

How do blogs benefit you?

1. SEO. They're golden for internal linking to your profile to boost its SEO value. Blogs are great opportunities to rank for specific expertise, production and kit keywords too.

2. Your technical expertise and experience on productions is interesting! People want to know why and how things work. They want to search and find the answer or come across a post on social media sharing facts they never knew about the world of Film and TV.

3. Blogs give us evergreen content we can use across all of our marketing including social and emails to production more than once or twice.

How to submit a blog post

We want to make this as simple as possible. We're not asking you to be talented writers. We have the editorial and copywriting knowledge to help you write the content and get it looking sharp.

So, if you've got an idea for a blog post based on our examples in point one, let us know! You can either email just a sentence or two telling us your idea using the link here and we'll get in touch to help you develop the blog.

Submit for our monthly round-up blog post

At the end of each month, we write a "Whats new with our crew" blog post which is circulated on social media and in the newsletter to production.

Here's an example.

How can you be included? Submit what you're up to in the 'SAB Marketing Team' Whatsapp group and we'll be picking 5-8 highlights per month from the chat. You don't always need to provide BTS pictures and videos. We'll consider including updates that have trailer or video links we can embed.
