AD Open Door is a hugely popular online series for Architectural Digest where the audience is invited on a private tour of celebrity houses. Homes we have been to include those of Adwoa Aboah, Sienna Miller and Rita Ora.

These shoots are filmed with a small crew and keeping kit and our foot print to a minimum as we are also sharing the space with a photography crew. One of the challenges on these shoots is that our director is often based in the US so we send the camera and sound feed down a zoom link to our director who then communicates to our celebrity on a mobile phone or tablet just under the lens. It is a great use of technology to bring those who can't be there on the day right onto set.

Skills and services required

Shot on my own kit, I use a wide angle lens on my gimbal for the majority of the content ensuring we show off as much of the space as possible. After the main content, we then have a chance to go round and film all the cutaways and sweeping wide establishing shots.
