Working as a cameraman on Love It or List It is both challenging and rewarding. As a cameraman, you’re tasked with capturing the emotional highs and lows of the participants, as well as the dramatic transformations of their homes. This means being adaptable, as you’ll film in tight spaces during renovations, follow fast-paced action during house hunts, and capture detailed shots of design reveals.

The job demands technical expertise and creativity. You must be skilled in operating various cameras, from handheld to mounted, gimbals and drones. Also adept at adjusting lighting and angles to highlight the best features of each space. Collaboration is key, as you work closely with the director, producers, and hosts to ensure the story is visually compelling.

One of the most exciting aspects is witnessing the homeowners’ reactions firsthand, which adds a personal touch to the work. The long hours and unpredictable shooting conditions can be physically demanding and despite the challenges, being part of a show that brings joy and inspiration to viewers makes it a fulfilling experience. Overall, working as a cameraman on Love It or List It is a unique blend of artistry, technical skill, and storytelling and an absolute pleasure to work on.
