I was a lone operator PD filming patrols, buy/walks takedowns and interdictions with the El Paso County Sheriffs, United States Border Patrol and Drug Enforcement administration. As the first crew member in , I had to negotiate day to access and filming requirements with both patrol and Media officers, all the way up the Department of Homeland Security's Senior Press Officer.

I also had to train an American Shooter/ Producer on the camera and in the ways of UK TV Production. He was surprised at the breadth of roles he was required to fill as a PD (Full Kit-Of-Parts shooting, Hero Shots, GVs, B Roll, Paperwork) and told me us Brits do way too much work!!
