Football World Cup – Russia 2018 & Korea-Japan 2002
TV Globo-Russia, HBS
Russia 2018:
On Red Square, Moscow we built two presentation studios for TV Globo, Brazil. One was remotely operated from São Paulo for their pay-per-view platform, the other locally operated. Once construction was complete we handed over and then oversaw their initial live broadcasts to ensure a smooth transition to their operators for the rest of the tournaments Brazilian presentations.
Korea-Japan 2002:
I was the senior sound engineer for Gearhouse Broadcast, contracted by HBS, to sound engineer both control rooms of the Seoul and Jeonju stadiums in South Korea. There was much rigging and de-rigging of all the broadcast facilities in the early stages of the World Cup tournament and travelling between the 2 venues.
The sound desk set-up would be a bespoke config for each of the different French operator teams working across the many venues throughout Korea and Japan-much plugging and re-plugging was required!
