Behind the scenes with sailors repairing for the Transat Jaques Vabre - a trans Atlantic race from France to Brazil. Once again, a challenging shoot for the entire crew with high winds, unstable working conditions in fairly choppy waters and of course lots of water. All radio mics placed in aqua-pacs to keep them safe from the salt water and all contributors double mic'd with Zaxcom ZFR body recorders in case of any problems at sea where it would be practically possible to get under life-vests etc to look at mics - so, we had to have a double system running at all times. Quite a lots of pre-shoot preparation and faffing around before we set off, but it all paid off in the end as production had the reassurance that quality audio would always be available in the edit.
