Legoland: Ice Cream Cone Drone Delivery
Stripe Communications
I was commissioned by Strip Communications to deliver for a short film marketing film suggesting that Legoland is testing an 'ice cream drone delivery service'.
I worked with Lego's 'master builders' to create a Lego-made basket which would hold 2 Cornettos, and be suspended from a drone which would then deliver to guests somewhere in the theme park.
I developed and tested this rig, assessing maximum load and flight times.
I crewed the shoot which involved two crews for air-to-air shots of the delivery drone flying through the park and delivering the ice cream.
The whole shoot was conducted under strictly controlled conditions, using actors in a closed park. One hottest day of the year. Many 'hero ice creams' were consumed.
Reading the Youtube comments, it would seem many people thought the concept was real!
